Celebrate the 4th of July in Portland at the Waterfront Blues Festival
Nothing says 4th of July like celebrating with family, friends, food and fireworks. The 4th of July is only a couple of weeks away, so a lot of you are probably thinking, “what am I going to do for the 4th?” Well, you could always put a little bit of music into your patriotic celebration with the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland.
This music festival has been bringing live blues to Portland since 1987, and, in 2012, they are bringing a new line-up of blues artists. Not only is it bringing awareness about the blues music genre, but it’s also help to eliminate hunger as the festival teams up with the Oregon Food Bank. This year, you can bring your family and friends to this wonderful festival as a way of celebrating the 4th of July. At the end of the festival, there will be a 4th of July Fireworks display at 10pm and the National Anthem performed by Linda Hornbuckle.
The festival is taking place at the Tom McCall Waterfront Park, which is walking distance from your one or two bedroom apartment in Portland. It will begin on July 4th and last until July 8th, so you can celebrate Independence Day and enjoy the festival after Independence Day, too. Purchase your tickets to the festival today, and celebrate the 4th with some blues.
